In short:- You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to explain what we hold.
- Email privacy@celebisland.com from the email address on your account — that is the real, current way to reach us.
- We aim to respond within 30 days, as required under the Nigeria Data Protection Act.
- We may need to verify it is really you asking, to avoid handing your data to someone else.
What you can ask for
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Erase your account and data (see also our dedicated Account Deletion page, which is the fastest way to do this yourself)
- Restrict how we use your data, in certain cases
- Give you your data in a portable format you can take elsewhere
- Object to certain uses, such as analytics or advertising
The full detail of what we collect, why, and how long we keep it is in our Privacy Policy.
How to make a request
Email privacy@celebisland.com from the email address linked to your CelebIsland account, and tell us:
- What you are asking for (a copy, a correction, deletion, etc.)
- Your username
- Anything specific you want corrected or included, if relevant
You can also start this through our general contact form if you prefer — mention that it is a data request so it reaches the right team.
Verifying it is you
Because a data request can involve sensitive personal information, we may ask you to confirm details only the account owner would know before we act on it. This protects you from someone else requesting your data.
How long it takes
We aim to respond within 30 days, free of charge, as required by the Nigeria Data Protection Act. If a request is complex, we will tell you and explain the delay.
If you are not satisfied
You can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you believe we have not handled your request properly.
