Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy

Draft pending qualified legal review. This page was written in plain language by the CelebIsland team to describe our real, current practices. It has not yet been reviewed by a qualified lawyer and is not final legal counsel. If something here looks wrong, unclear, or out of date, please contact us and we will fix it.

Effective date: September 8, 2026  |  Last updated: September 8, 2026

In short:
  • Post your own work, or work you have permission to post.
  • If someone has posted your copyrighted work without permission, email us and we will review and remove it if the report checks out.
  • We do not yet have a fully automated notice-and-counter-notice portal — today this is a real, contact-based process handled by our team, not a form-fill bot.
  • Repeated, confirmed infringement gets an account restricted or removed.

Our position

CelebIsland respects intellectual property rights and expects members to do the same. You may only post content you created, content that is properly licensed to you, or content that is used in a way the law allows (for example, brief quotation or fair dealing/fair use for commentary).

If your work has been posted without permission

We do not currently run an automated takedown portal. Instead, email support@celebisland.com with the subject line “Copyright report” and include:

  • A link (or links) to the content on CelebIsland that you believe infringes your rights
  • A description of your original work and, where possible, a link or file showing you own or control it
  • Your name and contact details
  • A short statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and that the information you have given is accurate

A real person on our team reviews every report. If it checks out, we remove or restrict the content and may take action on the account that posted it, up to and including removal for repeat infringement.

If your content was removed and you disagree

Email the same address with the subject line “Copyright counter-report”, explain why you believe the content does not infringe (for example, you own it, you are licensed to use it, or it falls under fair dealing), and we will review it. We do not yet have a separate formal counter-notice legal process distinct from this — today, both the original report and any disagreement with our decision are reviewed by the same human team, and you can also use our Appeals Policy if action was taken on your account.

Trademarks and impersonation

The same contact-based process applies to reports about trademark misuse or an account impersonating a real brand or organisation.

Repeat infringement

An account that repeatedly posts infringing content, after being told, will have its posting privileges restricted or the account removed.

A note on where this policy is heading

As CelebIsland grows, we intend to build a proper structured intellectual-property report and counter-notice system with tracked cases and clear timelines, closer to what larger platforms use. Until that exists, we would rather tell you honestly how reports are handled today than describe a process we have not built yet.
