Sizzla Kalonji, born Miguel Orlando Collins on 17 April 1976 in St Mary, Jamaica, and raised in August Town, Kingston, is among the most prolific artists reggae has produced. Brought up by Rastafarian parents and a member of the Bobo Ashanti order, he has built a catalogue running to dozens of albums, including Black Woman and Child, the record that carried his name worldwide. His singing and deejaying helped return Rastafarian themes to the centre of modern dancehall.
