DRAFT — pending legal counsel review. This is a working draft prepared by the CelebIsland team. It has not been reviewed by qualified legal counsel, is not final, and may change. Items marked [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM] are open questions for counsel.
1. Scope
This policy applies to games on CelebIsland (for example Naija Ten, Whot and Penalty), tournaments and competitions such as WhoWin, leaderboards, and any prizes.
2. Fair play
- No cheating: bots, scripts, modified clients, exploiting bugs, collusion between players, or multiple accounts.
- Report bugs instead of exploiting them.
- Results obtained by cheating are void, prizes are forfeited, and accounts may be banned.
3. Skill, chance and gambling
- CelebIsland games are offered for entertainment. Games that combine an entry fee, an element of chance and a prize of value may be regulated as gambling or lotteries.
- [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM: classification of each paid-entry game under the National Lottery Act 2005 and state gaming laws; whether a licence is needed before any paid-entry or cash-prize mode is enabled.]
- Until counsel confirms, any paid-entry mode must remain disabled for real money.
4. Tournaments and prizes
- Each tournament publishes its rules, eligibility, dates, and prizes before it opens.
- Winners may be asked to verify their identity and age before a prize is awarded.
- Prizes are as described and may not be exchanged, except at CelebIsland's discretion. Any taxes on prizes are the winner's responsibility. [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM.]
5. Age limits
Players must meet the Children & Teens Policy age rules. Any game involving paid entry or cash prizes is limited to players aged 18 or over.
6. Virtual items and points
In-game points, coins or items have no cash value unless explicitly stated, cannot be sold outside CelebIsland, and may be reset if a game is changed or discontinued.
7. Conduct
In-game chat and player names follow the Community Standards.
