DRAFT — pending legal counsel review. This is a working draft prepared by the CelebIsland team. It has not been reviewed by qualified legal counsel, is not final, and may change. Items marked [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM] are open questions for counsel.

1. What this covers

Airwave is CelebIsland's live audio and video rooms feature, including stages, radio shows, podcasts, watch parties, jam sessions, assemblies, church and channel broadcasts, and live video. This policy explains when sessions are recorded, who can access recordings, and how long they are kept.

2. When a room is recorded

  • A room is recorded only when its host turns recording on. Recording is off by default.
  • When recording is on, everyone in the room is shown a visible recording indicator, and people joining are told before they enter.
  • Speakers and anyone on camera should assume that what they say and show while the indicator is on will be captured.
  • [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM: whether explicit per-participant consent must be captured before someone speaks on a recorded stage.]

3. What is recorded

Depending on the room type: the room's audio mix, video of participants on stage, shared presentation screens, and text chat. Listeners who never speak and keep their camera off are not captured beyond their presence in the room's attendee list.

4. Who owns and controls recordings

  • The host controls the recording: whether it is published as a replay, kept private, or deleted.
  • Speakers keep rights in their own contributions; by speaking in a recorded room they allow the host and CelebIsland to store and replay the recording on CelebIsland.
  • Participants who want their contribution removed from a published replay can ask the host, or Contact us if the host does not respond.

5. Storage and retention

  • Recordings are stored with our cloud storage provider.
  • Replays are kept until the host deletes them, unless removed for breaking the rules. [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM: maximum retention for unpublished/private recordings and for recordings of deleted accounts.]

6. Downloading and re-sharing

Recording a room by other means (screen recording, external devices) and re-publishing it elsewhere without the host's and speakers' permission is not allowed.

7. Sensitive rooms

Rooms such as private lodge meetings, mediation or breakout consultations, and assemblies may carry an expectation of confidentiality. Hosts of these rooms should not enable recording without all participants' agreement. [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM: whether recording should be technically blocked for these room types.]

8. Law-enforcement requests

We disclose recordings to authorities only where legally required. See the Privacy Policy.
