What is the last genuinely inconvenient thing you did for your people?

Not what you wore. Not what you posted. What it actually cost you.

There is a version of loving where you are from that costs nothing - the fabric, the trip, the playlist, the ceremony. And there is the version that costs something: sending money you did not really have, sitting through six hours in a language you are pretending to follow, answering the phone at 3am because of the time difference, being responsible for people who never asked your permission to be your responsibility.

The second list is inconvenient and you cannot post it.

So what was yours? And the harder question - is it fair to hold anybody to that standard when for a lot of people those obligations were taken away by force, not given up by choice?
