Nollywood has gone full epic this month. Which one are you actually paying to see?

Look at what is in cinemas right now:

King Kosoko: The Battle for Lagos - 19th century Lagos, the rise of Oba Kosoko and the resistance to colonial rule. Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, Gabriel Afolayan.

Ikenga: The Last Festival - a man with forbidden power going against ancestral custom. Pete Edochie, Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwor, Regina Daniels.

Apaara (The Outcast) - Yoruba epic, an outcast taking on corrupt leadership. Bimbo Ademoye, Faithia Williams.

Plus Blood Debt and Sweet 16 for anyone who wants something modern.

That is a serious amount of history and folklore on screen at the same time. Is this Nollywood finally investing in its own stories properly, or a phase where every studio chases the same epic formula because one of them worked?

Which are you seeing, and which do you think will actually be good?
