Everybody is shouting AI now. When does that stop being a critique and start being an insult?

It has become the standard reply under any new release from an older artist. That vocal sounds AI. That production is AI. He did not sing that.

Most of the time there is no evidence. Somebody decides a texture sounds too clean and the comments run with it.

The worry is real. AI tools exist, they are getting good, and fans have every right to want to know what is human. Trust between an artist and their listeners is the whole product.

But there is a cost on the other side. An artist who changes their sound, experiments, or simply gets better engineering now gets accused of faking it. We are punishing people for evolving.

So where is the line? What would actually convince you a song is AI, beyond it sounding unfamiliar? And should artists be required to disclose it?
