Nepopiano: is Afrobeats becoming a rich man’s game?

You know the records. Expensive video, billboard on Lekki-Epe, playlist placement, blog coverage the same afternoon, from an artist nobody has ever heard sing.

One side says money has always been in music, and nobody has ever been able to buy a hit. You can buy a rollout. You cannot buy the thing where a song follows people for three years.

The other side says every bought slot is a slot a broke artist with a better song had to earn.

Where do you stand? And the honest one: if you had the money tomorrow, would you buy yourself a rollout?
