Seller Policy

Draft pending qualified legal review. This page was written in plain language by the CelebIsland team to describe our real, current practices. It has not yet been reviewed by a qualified lawyer and is not final legal counsel. If something here looks wrong, unclear, or out of date, please contact us and we will fix it.

In short:
  • List honestly, describe the item accurately, and only list what you actually have and can deliver.
  • You are responsible for fulfilling what you sell — CelebIsland does not ship, store, or inspect your items.
  • Payment is currently arranged directly with your buyer (see Marketplace Terms); keep your own record of every sale.
  • Selling prohibited items, scamming a buyer, or repeated disputes against you can get your Market access removed.

Before you list

  • Only list items you own, have the legal right to sell, and can actually deliver.
  • Use real photos of the actual item where possible. Do not use a photo that misrepresents what the buyer will receive.
  • State the true condition (new, used, refurbished), price, and any limits (quantity, location, delivery method) in the listing itself, not only in a message afterwards.

Prohibited items

The prohibited items list in our Marketplace Terms applies to every listing you create. Listing a prohibited item can result in the listing being removed and your Market access being restricted or removed, without notice for serious cases.

Taking payment

CelebIsland does not currently process Market payments for you. Until integrated checkout is live, agree the payment method with your buyer directly — bank transfer is the most common method on the platform today — and only mark an order as fulfilled once payment has actually cleared on your side. Keep your own records; CelebIsland is not a party to the payment and cannot reverse a bank transfer for you.

Delivering the order

  • Deliver, or make the item available for collection, within the timeframe you stated in the listing.
  • If you cannot fulfil an order after payment, tell the buyer immediately and refund them directly.
  • Keep proof of dispatch or handover where you can — it is what we will ask for first if a dispute is raised.

If a buyer opens a dispute

You will be notified and given the chance to respond with your side and any evidence (messages, proof of delivery, photos). Our team reviews both sides under the Buyer Protection Policy and reaches a decision. Repeated, upheld disputes against the same seller can lead to a permanent loss of Market access.

Boosted listings

Boosting a listing for extra visibility is a paid, optional feature. Once a boost has started running, the money spent has already been used to deliver the placement and is not refundable, in line with our Refund Policy.

Taxes

You are responsible for any tax that applies to what you sell. CelebIsland does not withhold or file tax on your behalf for Market sales.
