In effect from today. Version 1.0. Nine rules, and they apply to the founder too.
CelebIsland is a Nigerian platform, open to everyone. These are the rules of the island. They are short on purpose, because rules nobody reads protect nobody.
1. No tribal, ethnic, regional or religious abuse
This is first because it matters most here. Nigeria has two hundred and fifty ethnic groups and a long habit of turning that into a weapon. Not on this platform.

Criticising institutions, industries, executives or governments for favouritism along ethnic lines is legitimate and stays up. Saying a tribe is the problem is abuse. The line is between naming a system and naming a people, and we will hold it in both directions.
2. No impersonation
Do not run an account as someone you are not. Fan pages are welcome and must say clearly that they are unofficial. If an account is using your name or face without permission, write to support@celebisland.com.
3. No pile-ons
Criticism is allowed. Bad reviews are allowed. Arguing is the point of a social platform. Organising against a person is not.
Removed: coordinated harassment, brigading, recruiting others to attack an account, repeated unwanted contact after being told to stop, and posting private information without consent.
An artist who releases a song has invited an opinion on the song. They have not invited a campaign.
4. No scams
Permanently removed: fake investment schemes, “double your money”, fraudulent giveaways, phishing, fake job offers that ask for a fee, and any request for payment to a personal account in the name of the platform.
CelebIsland will never ask you for your password, and will never ask you to pay into a personal bank account.
5. No spam
Accounts that exist to drop links are removed and blocked from registering again. This is enforced regularly and we do not announce it, because spam is not interesting.
6. Nothing involving children
Zero tolerance, no warnings, no appeal. Sexualised content involving anyone under 18, content that grooms, or content that endangers a child, results in immediate permanent removal and referral to the authorities. Text, images, audio or video, real or generated.
7. No threats or incitement
No threats of violence against a person or group. No incitement. No glorification of violent attacks.
8. Post what is yours
Do not upload work you do not have the right to upload. Rights holders can write to support@celebisland.com and we will act on a valid claim. Members whose work has been taken can do the same.
9. If you are struggling
If you post something that suggests you are in danger of harming yourself, we will not delete your account and we will not punish you. We will show you support resources and, where we can, a person will reach out.
Nigeria mental health helpline: 0800 6800 6800 — free.
If you are worried about another member, report the post. That is not snitching.
What happens when a rule is broken

Steps 1 to 3 are reversible. We do not delete a member’s history to make a point. Straight to step 4, with no ladder: anything under Rule 6, credible threats of violence, and scam operations.
Appeals
Every action can be appealed. Write to appeals@celebisland.com with your username and what happened. A different person reviews the appeal from the one who took the action. You get an answer, with a reason, within seven days. If we got it wrong we say so and reverse it, including the record.
This applies to the founder

Kelly Hansome founded CelebIsland and is its largest account. A platform that says it opposes tribalism while exempting its owner from the rule is not opposing anything. This clause is the difference between a position and a press release, and it is why it is written down.
What we will not do
We will not delete your account for disagreeing with us, including about the founder or this platform. We will not sell your data. We will not remove criticism of powerful people or institutions because they asked us to — rights holders can claim their work, but nobody buys silence. We will not hand over your information without lawful process. We will not change these rules quietly — changes are announced, with a version number and a date.
