DRAFT — pending legal counsel review. This is a working draft prepared by the CelebIsland team. It has not been reviewed by qualified legal counsel, is not final, and may change. Items marked [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM] are open questions for counsel.

1. Scope

This policy applies to CelebIsland's education features — courses, campus spaces, academies, security training, cyber ranges, certificates and skills records — for learners, instructors and institutions.

2. Instructors and institutions

  • Instructors must have the right to teach the material they publish and must not misrepresent their qualifications.
  • Course descriptions must accurately describe content, level, duration and any prerequisites.
  • Institutions that onboard learners are responsible for having the authority and any consents required to do so.

3. Certificates and credentials

  • Certificates show that a learner completed the stated course on CelebIsland. Unless explicitly stated, they are not accredited academic qualifications.
  • [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM: any accreditation claims and required wording.]
  • Certificates obtained by cheating, impersonation or sharing answers may be revoked.

4. Academic integrity

Learners must do their own work. Sharing assessments, using another person to complete a course, or tampering with progress records is prohibited.

5. Learner records and privacy

  • We keep records of enrolment, progress, assessment results and certificates to provide the service and verify credentials.
  • Instructors and institutions can see the records of learners in their own courses only.
  • Learner data is handled under the Privacy Policy. [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM: retention period for learner records and transcripts.]

6. Safeguarding learners under 18

  • Educators working with learners under 18 must follow the Children & Teens Policy.
  • One-to-one private messaging between an adult educator and a minor learner should take place only in course spaces visible to the institution. [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM and engineering to implement.]

7. Hands-on security labs

Practical security exercises may only be performed inside the lab environments CelebIsland provides. Using techniques learned to attack real systems without authorisation is prohibited and may be illegal — see the Penetration-Testing Authorization Policy.

8. Paid courses

Paid courses are subject to the Payments Terms and Refund Policy. [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM: course-specific refund window.]
