Electric Vehicle Charging Connector Procurement Intelligence
In this electric vehicle charging connector procurement intelligence report, we have estimated the key cost components associated with its production. Raw materials/wires/ cables, energy/ electricity, machining/tooling/laser/ equipment, labor, mounting accessories, housing and packaging, and facilities are some of the important cost components. Different raw materials such as steel, copper, and aluminum are used in the wiring of electrical components. For the inner sheath and outer jacket of the cables, polymer materials, polycarbonate or polycarbonate blends are mainly used. Rubbers are used for insulation covers. Copper is one of the important cost components due to its high electrical conductivity and reliability.
In Q4 2023, polycarbonate prices in the North American region witnessed a bearish momentum due to low domestic and international demand. The low demand can be attributed to the oversupply of the product. Compared to Q3 2023, polycarbonate prices declined by 22% in Mexico in the first half of the fourth quarter. However, at the end of Q4, in Mexico, polycarbonate (GP grade) had stable prices as supply was consistent to meet the trader’s requirements. At the end of December 2023, polycarbonate prices reached USD 2,754 per metric ton in the NA region. In the European region, prices reached USD 2,927 per metric ton at the end of 2023. In Asia, prices reached USD 2,347 per metric ton at the end of 2023.
