The PlayStation Plus Essential lineup for the month of June consists of three games, which have now been revealed. There are no major console exclusives or new releases that are included; instead, there is NBA 2K23, a tie-in title for Jurassic Park, and an independent game that takes its inspiration from classic samurai films.
Because it is the latest installment in a series that has been running for a very long time and is updated annually, the basketball video game NBA 2K23 requires very little introduction. The most recent entry stands out from the others in the series because the controls and AI have been improved, and it also includes a Jordan Challenge mode that follows Michael Jordan through his entire professional basketball career. However, you should be wary of some fairly invasive forms of microtransactions.
A sequel to the theme park management game Jurassic World, Jurassic World Evolution 2, is also available this month.
In this sequel, roller coasters and other activities are replaced with dinosaur-related attractions.
This game even provides a little bit of story context to fill in the gap between Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Dominion.
The management genre is a surprisingly good fit for Jurassic Park intellectual property, and this game is one of the reasons why.
Trek to Yomi is an independent video game that has a strong focus on cinematic presentation.
It is stylized in the manner of a traditional black-and-white samurai action movie, which is appropriate given that it is telling a revenge story about a student attempting to avenge their deceased teacher.
If you haven't already played this game through the Game Pass service, you can now get it through a Sony subscription service as well.
Even though this isn't the most exciting game lineup ever, it still offers a wide variety of different ways to play the games that are included. From the 6th of June until the 3rd of July, members of PlayStation Plus will have access to the games NBA 2K23, Jurassic World Evolution 2, and Trek to Yomi. Be sure to get all of the May PS Plus games downloaded before then as well.
